Teacher from Kazan’s school 151 becomes Teacher of the Year in Tatarstan

The name of the winner of Tatarstan Teacher of the Year 2015 has been announced. She is a Russian language and literature teacher at school No 151 in Kazan’s Kirov district Evgenia Rodionova.

Tatarstan Education Ministry’s press service chief Alsu Mukhametova said the best chemistry teacher was Ruzilya Garipova of the humanities boarding school for gifted children in Aktaynsh region. The best physics teacher is Ildar Giniyatullin at a comprehensive school in Alkeevsk. Gulnaz Kurochkina of school No 26 in Naberezhnye Chelny is the best mathematics teacher in Tatarstan.

The competition’s final round took place between 13 and 17 April on the grounds of Kazan schools. Forty five Tatarstan teachers, who had won regional stages, took part in the concluding events.

The finalists held general-access lessons, master classes, presented education projects and held teacher conferences.

Contestants were teachers whose uninterrupted work record is at least 5 years. A total of 222 teachers from all municipalities took part in the regional stages.

In the autumn, a face-to-face stage of the national Teacher of the Year 2015 competition will take place in Kazan.
